Fort Lewis College
Student Life Camp at Fort Lewis College is a life-changing experience set against the most beautiful backdrop imaginable. The reason it’s nicknamed Colorado’s “Campus in the Sky” is largely because its lofty location in the beautiful San Juan Mountains seems to sit this public liberal arts college high above the rest of the world. For a Student Life camper, that means the right environment for focusing on God and having fun with friends in a weeklong Christ-centered camp. The visually pleasing sandstone architecture reflects the cultural impact of the native Pueblo Indians, whose centuries-old towns give the region a unique historical quality not found at many other camp locations.
Corporate gatherings at Student Life Camp, such as Morning Celebration, Evening Worship and Late Nite, all take place inside the Whalen Gymnasium. Those participating in Student Life Mission Camp will also find opportunities for worship through service in the nearby town of Durango, Colo., the largest city in the southwestern part of the state and a region of 60,000 people.
Student Life is entering its third summer of partnership with Fort Lewis College, which is about 350 miles west of Denver, 200 miles from Albuquerque, NM, and 450 miles north of Phoenix, Arizona.www.fortlewis.edu
