Stephen F. Austin University
Among the tall pines and the rolling hills of the east Texas landscape you’ll find Stephen F. Austin University, a staple of Student Life’s summer camp schedule since 2000. SFA sits in Nacogdoches, Texas, proudly labeled as the “oldest town in Texas.” As such, there is a sense of history and rustic charm mixed in with the energy of an exciting camp atmosphere that SFA offers. The surrounding area of Nacogdoches itself thrives with service opportunities for Student Life Mission campers.
The accommodations that SFA offers Student Life Camp are second to none. That includes the spacious Johnson Coliseum and its movie theater-style stadium seating as well as the housing, recreation and dining options. The famous Ag Pond, with its newly renovated fountain, walking trail, bridges and weeping willow trees, captures the university’s relaxed, easy-going summertime feel. It’s a great place for students to sit and talk, read their camp Bible study, take a walk, jog or enjoy God’s amazing handiwork in the local scenery.
