Stetson University
Stetson University is the right mix of turn-of-the-century charm and modern-day thinking. Founded as Florida’s first private school more than a century ago, the remarkable architecture on campus has gained a place for Stetson on the National Register of Historic Places. At the same time, all the facilities on campus that help to accommodate the daily life of a contemporary college student also meet the seasonal needs of valued guests like Student Life Camp.
The DeLand, Fla., campus is just 25 miles from Daytona Beach and 35 miles from Orlando. Close proximity to the Florida coast as well as the towering palm trees scattered around campus give Student Life Camp a distinct atmosphere not found in other locations. There are a lot of great spots here to sit and read or hang out with groups of friends. The spacious Edmunds Center is home to the university’s “Hatters” basketball team during the season and home to Student Life Camp’s worship services during the summer. Stetson understands the quality of production that goes into camp, and the university’s facilities are perfect for Student Life’s ministry goals.
Stetson’s location allows for a lot of Mission Camp opportunities in the DeLand area. Many groups add a day at the beach or take in one of the many Orlando-area attractions. Stetson University has been a partner in Student Life Camp since 1999.www.stetson.edu
