Stephen & Star Smith
Stephen and Star Smith lead what is known as the Smith Band from their home base in Houston, Texas. Each week the group leads college Bible study on the campus of Texas A&M that has a consistent attendance of 4-5,000 college students.Stephen Smith grew up in Florida and learned to play the guitar in Young Life. Star Smith grew up in Houston and has been singing since birth! After their marriage, worship ministry seemed the most natural step in the flow of life. Their desire is to lead worship that is transformational. They believe that God has called them to use their talents to raise Him up thereby drawing all people to Himself. They frequently remark from the platform that their job is more about getting on stage and getting out of the way than putting on the big show for people in attendance.
The latest recording, Wonder World, was produced by Nathan Nockels of Watermark. Nathan is Dove Award nominee with production credits that range from Passion records and Tim Hughes to PCD and Point of Grace.
